Overview:

Baywood South Animal Hospital

is looking for a

friendly and caring Veterinary Assistant

to join our team in Barrie. Our small practice, located near the beautiful Barrie Waterfront, is dedicated to providing the best patient and client care.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with patient care:

Help veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient appointments, procedures, and treatments. This includes safely restraining animals for procedures like blood draws, nail trims, and injections.

Maintenance & cleaning:

Maintain a clean and sanitary clinic environment. This involves:

Cleaning and restocking exam rooms Cleaning kennels, surgery tables, and dentistry tables after each use. Washing and folding laundry. General Cleaning and upkeep of the clinic

General duties:

Preparing medications and restocking supplies. Walking, feeding, and caring for in-hospital patients as directed. Watering indoor and outdoor plants in the summer. Performing some reception duties when needed.

Skills & Experience:

Experience as a Veterinary Assistant (1 year preferred).

Familiarity with

Avimark

software is an asset. Prior experience working with animals and in customer service is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is essential. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving and listening skills. Must be detail-oriented.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
