Part Time Tutor For K 12

Richmond, BC, CA, Canada

Job Description

Pansophy Education Institute is seeking talented part-time educators to join our team as Part-time tutors in our Richmond office. We are hiring across our core subject areas of English (K-12, including AP Language/Literature) and Mathematics, with some hours also available for Science (K-10), French (8-12), Mandarin and other subjects with which applicants may be familiar. This is a part-time opportunity for which we request, at a minimum, a 8-month commitment (August 2025 through at least March 2026).

Part-time tutors are expected to curate informal teaching plans from both proprietary materials prepared by Pansophy and commercial textbooks and study aids. Part-time tutors may receive coaching on preparing informal teaching plans and are asked to be flexible in implementing these plans.

The starting salary ranges are as follows: $22/hour for college students; $24 for recent college graduates and third-year/fourth-year college students with 1+ year of tutoring, teaching assistance (college or high school community service) or similar experience; or $26 for graduate students and experience teachers. We offer the following competitive compensation structure: for group tutoring classes with more than three students, we offer an additional $2 per hour per additional students. For example, a graduate student teaching a class of five students is compensated at the rate of $30/hour. We conduct biannual review of hourly salaries and often adjust salaries upward to reflect our staff members' success.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (applicants must have undergone at least one year of college or university)
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (ability to speak conversational Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but neither expected nor required)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and to remain responsive within reason
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children and young adults

We offer the above-described competitive pay rates, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive work environment. We also offer a strong support network for future opportunities: a majority of our alumni have gone on to law school, medical school, and postgraduate teaching programs with our support. If you are passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your resume along with a cover letter or email detailing your relevant experience and why you are interested in this position.
