Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 6385 Sec 50: Community and Social Change Analysis. This course is part of the MSW program and will be offered in the Summer Term, from July-August, 2024. Note: this is an online course.
The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Understanding of various perspectives of community care in social work practice, such as communitarianism, eco-feminism, social ecology, managerialism, neo-liberalism, and new social movement theory. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with online teaching.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
