Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will serve as the Faculty Field Advisor for: SLWK 4033 Sec 01 , \xe2\x80\x9cField Practicum & Seminar Block placement option\xe2\x80\x9d. This course is part of the BSW program and will be offered in the Spring/Summer term, from April-August 2024. To confirm dates, times, and location of field seminars, please consult the Dalhousie Academic Timetable.
The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring on final grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. Solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree (or higher) and previous teaching experience.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
