Job Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesThis 3-credit course is designed for nurse practitioner students who have chosen the Family All Ages focus for their future practice. Students will utilize a family focused approach in assessing clinical and research literature as a means of developing competence in health promotion, health maintenance and cultural sensitivity in caring for clients in the community setting.
FORMAT: SeminarThis appointment runs from September 1 to December 31, 2024. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Graduate Studies.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics
  • Teach course content
  • Assessment and evaluation of student learning
  • Use of Brightspace for course delivery
  • Responding to student queries about coursework
  • Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
  • Participation in course discussions within the program
  • Develop and administer examinations
  • Submission of grades
  • Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements of PositionCandidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Nova Scotia. A strong clinical background in health and disease management in family all ages would be an asset. Prior teaching experience an asset. PhD preferred.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
