The Position:

This is a full-time position, that will be based out of the GIP- Nelson River Construction shop located at 101 Dawson Rd. North in Winnipeg. This position consist of 9.5 hour work days with a start time of 7am until 5pm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with both mechanics and Department Superintendents/Foremen to order parts for field deliveries and components for equipment repairs. Coordinate orders and deliveries with vendors, while building and maintaining positive business relationships with these vendors. Issuing and receiving Purchase Orders. Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists. Processing Invoices Purchasing heavy-duty parts for large equipment through computer systems. Manage inventory and organization of parts department. Coordinate the ordering and distribution of Shop Consumables. Determine the availability and lead times of parts. Track, follow-up, and report back on ordered parts. Monitor trends and counts of parts.

Qualifications:

Proficient in PC software and systems such as Microsoft Office, PDF, emailing, using Spread Sheets. Possess effective use of email and telephone communication skills Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment is considered an asset. Possess strong organizational, management, oral and written communication skills. Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward vendors and co-workers in a demanding and fast paced environment with a great sense of urgency.
