Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time barista with the ability to work evenings and weekends at Balzac's Coffee in Niagara on the Lake

. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and food preparation, with a keen interest in coffee and beverage crafting. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success in this role.

Candidates must have availability from Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, for processing transactions accurately. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, dining area, and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Assist with food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring adherence to food handling guidelines. Handle cash transactions responsibly, including cash handling and basic math calculations for accurate change. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or experience in the food industry is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment. Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
