This role will provide professional mental health services, specifically drop-in counselling hours and groups, that support student wellness and academic success.
Responsibilities

Provide individual single-session drop-in counselling
Develop and implement group sessions focused on common presenting problems
Assess student needs (including risk assessments) in order to inform provision of care and/or referral
Provide mental health services within regulatory bodies scope of practice
Compliance to regulatory bodies code of conduct, college standards and practices and relevant legislation (PHIPA, Regulated Health Professions Act, , Health Promotion and Protection Act)
Practice within an interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, health promoters)
Coordination of care with multiple service providers to ensure holistic approach
Provision of follow-up care as needed
Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, clinical roundtables and supervision
Participate in quality assurance standards (file audits, case reviews)
Ensure timely documentation of all care provided
Remain current with respect to evidence informed practice
Qualifications
------------------
Degree in Social Work or related discipline and registered with a regulatory body
Extensive experience with individual counselling (especially single-session/solution focused/brief therapy and walk-in counselling).
Experience developing and facilitating group sessions (psycho-educational and therapeutic)
Working knowledge of relevant legislation (i.e. Personal Health Information and Privacy Act, Family and Children's Services Act, etc.)
