Job Description
The Municipality of Powassan is seeking candidates for the position of Parks and Facilities Manager. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Parks and Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of all facilities, including the Legion, Sportsplex, Trout Creek Community Centre, 250 Clark, fitness centre, pool, playgrounds, and parks. Critical responsibilities for the role include:
- Preparing and monitoring annual department budgets and accounts, reviewing annual financial and activity reports, and authorizing payment of budgeted amounts.
- Developing, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures for the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
- Developing and recommending cost efficiencies for operations and capital expenses.
- Performing general maintenance and repairs to facility fixtures and coordinating with external contractors as required.
- Developing partnerships within the community to assist in the development of recreation opportunities.
- Seasonally managing the daily operations of the Sportsplex.
