We are looking for an Aircraft Painter to support the Paint/Structures/Composite department with preparing and finishing all aircraft parts required including washing, sanding, erosion tape removal and install, masking, painting (rolling and/or spraying).
What you will be responsible for:
Performs aircraft preparation, detailing, and painting operation of parts on/off of aircraft;
Use and select required hand tools, machinery, measuring instruments and abrasives in accordance with detailed work instructions;
Use protective equipment and follows safety rules as required in compliance with AAR Windsor Health & Safety requirements and Transport Canada regulations
Familiar with, and operational knowledge of department tools including but not limited to: pneumatic sanders, angle grinder, paint guns (HVLP).
Strong buffing and polishing skills;
Ability to sand, apply primer, topcoat paint/spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub-assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards using a variety of paints & finishes;
Polish and wax finished surfaces by cutting and buffing finished surfaces;
Performs moderately complex to complex filling operations related to the cosmetic appearance of the part being worked;
Documents the work performed on work cards using the correct reference;
Able to mix ration in order to mix sealant, filler materials, and/or paint;
Actively participate in AAR Aircraft Services Windsor's Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand and promote the company safety policy;
What you will need to be successful in this role:
High School Diploma
Experience in prep, detail and painting
Possess basic paint/prep tools
Good reflexes and coordination
Apply safe work practices while utilizing proper PPE in a hangar/shop environment
Read drawings and be rigorous in the use and application of technical documentation to select correct products, be able to apply correct methods in the performance of work
Clear understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate with fluency in English
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment
