Job Description

Foremost has an immediate opening for a Painter/Insulator at our facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. The Painter/Insulator position is responsible for internal and external coating, insulating and painting of bins, storage tanks, vessels, piping, structural steel components and other items as required.

Responsibilities:

Conform to quality control standards and construction specifications, drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and/or verbal instructions. Apply resins and/or solvent drying paints to fabricated products. Operate and service all equipment associated with coating and painting. Read, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies, procedures. Attend daily production meetings, report status of jobs in progress. Maintain frequent contact with QC and Production to ensure all blasting and coating requirements are met. Follow the company safe work procedures and legislated safety requirements. Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals. Prepare and/or apply industrial primer, paint, and/or industrial coatings (protective and decorative) to all parts of finished products and/or equipment. Operate brush or spray equipment as required and is responsible for proper storage and handling of all consumables, paints and painting supplies.

Qualifications :

Familiarity with tank, vessel and pipe coating. Ability to calculate values in Metric and Imperial. Ability to give and take clear direction ; verbal and written. WHMIS, H2S, Fall Protection, Confined Space training. Industrial painting experience or progression through a formal Painter Trade Certification. Use of hand tools.
