The Painter responds to work orders produced by the office in a timely and efficient manner. This position involves painting occupied and unoccupied residential suites, as well as common areas of residential buildings.
Hours of Work:
Full time day hours Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm with one half hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks.
Drywall repairs, taping, mud, and sanding to prepare for paint.
Removal of switch plates and repair/patch any holes in the walls.
Paint surfaces adhering to Southwest's standards. Surfaces include: all walls [halls, stairways, etc.], kitchen and bathroom cupboards [inside and out], bathroom walls, silicone tubs, and closets.
Ensure good tenant relations by scheduling repairs appropriately.
Respond promptly to requests for service work as required.
Ensure a regular inventory list is kept up-to-date, and supplies needed are adequately communicated to the office. Occasionally order paint.
Professionally liaise with contractors and sub-trades.
Suite Exterior Trim repairs.
Assist the Maintenance Department when required.
The work area can be dusty, dirty, with occasional temperature fluctuations. You may encounter high fumes, confined spaces, repetitive movements, standing for long periods, and heights on a very regular basis. You will utilize numerous tools on a daily basis including paint brushes, rollers, tools for patching and repairing walls, hammers, drills, screwdrivers, and ladders. You will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment.
Our ideal candidate has 3-4 years experience in a similar role plus a painting course/certificate,

Position Requires:
Criminal Records Check Completion, Valid Driver's License & Reliable Transportation, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and First Aid.
