Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong background in construction, restoration, and industrial painting. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint and finishes, and ensuring high-quality results that meet client specifications. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing various tools and techniques to transform spaces and enhance their aesthetic appeal.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute projects. Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore them to their original condition. Use hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, and caulking guns for surface preparation and finishing touches. Operate rigging and scaffolding safely when working at heights or on large structures. Execute industrial painting tasks on large-scale projects with precision and adherence to safety standards. Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure project specifications are met within scheduled timeframes. Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after each project.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, restoration, or industrial painting. Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding rigging, and safety protocols related to painting work. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with schematics related to construction projects and the use of technical instructions. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects. Experience in carpentry or related trades is a plus but not required. Customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
