The Department of Orthopaedics at BC ChildrenaEUR(TM)s Hospital invite applications for a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon in the field of pediatric spine surgery. BC ChildrenaEUR(TM)s serves as the major referral centre for infants and children throughout the province of British Columbia and the Yukon (population 5.1 million).

The successful candidate will have an interest in the management of pediatric spinal deformity and will be expected to take part in paediatric orthopaedic trauma and spine call. The candidate will have completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery in Canada and will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. They will have also completed a one-year fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics and a one-year fellowship in spinal surgery.

Candidates should have completed a masteraEUR(TM)s degree or higher in clinical epidemiology or health sciences. Experience with quality, safety and value initiatives as well as initiatives focused on improving the patient journey is an asset. The successful candidate will also have shown an interest in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels. The ability to perform collaborative research with other members of the team, with other faculty members at the University of British Columbia and beyond is expected.

The successful candidate will be appointed to the University of British Columbia Department of Orthopaedics at a level commensurate with their experience.
