: Packager (Small Candy Production Facility)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Packing Team Member to join our small candy production facility. As a Packer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper packaging, labeling, and presentation of our handcrafted candies, contributing to the overall quality and appearance of our products. Your 'can-do' attitude, attention to detail, and dedication to producing high-quality products will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

1. Packaging Operations: Responsible for accurately and efficiently packaging candies into various containers, such as boxes, bags, and jars, according to established guidelines and production standards.

2. Labeling and Identification: Apply labels, tags, and other identifying information to candy packages, ensuring accurate product information, like lot codes and best before dates, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

3. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on packaged candies to ensure they meet our standards for appearance, weight, and presentation before they are sent for distribution.

4. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including tracking packaged candies, packaging materials, and supplies to ensure sufficient stock levels.

5. Packaging Material Preparation: Prepare and organize packaging materials, including boxes, bags, and labels, for use in the packaging process.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, through the direction of the Supervisor to coordinate packaging activities, ensuring a smooth transition of candies from production to packaging.

7. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized packaging area, following sanitation and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.

8. Efficiency Enhancement: Continuously look for opportunities to improve packaging processes, streamline operations, and reduce waste to optimize productivity.

9. Adherence to Guidelines: Follow established packaging guidelines, including portion sizes, packaging methods, and presentation standards, to maintain consistency in product quality and appearance.

10. Team Support: Assist team members as needed during peak times, collaborating to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications:

1. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when packaging products to maintain product quality and presentation.

2. Efficiency: Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising on quality to meet production demands.

3. Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage packaging materials, maintain inventory records, and ensure a well-organized workspace.

4. Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small team and contribute to a positive work environment.

5. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast- paced production environment.. Ability to lift and carry max 25lbs.

6. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and priorities; working on different product lines multiple times throughout the shift.

7. Basic Math Skills: Proficiency in basic math for accurate portioning and inventory management.

8. Work experience in Food Production or Manufacturing is an asset.

9. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to sanitation and safety guidelines.

Pay: $17.75-$18.37 per hour
