POSITION SUMMARY

The Packager handle baked goods, ensuring proper packaging while maintaining quality standards and assisting with production flow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging Operations

Retrieve baked goods from

cooling conveyors

and package them into finished products ready for shipping. Rotate through various

packaging positions

on the line, including Stacker, Chute Feeder, Tray Packers, Wrapper Feeder, Langen Operator, Case Packer, Bagger, and Bag Sealer. Ensure all packaging tasks are performed in accordance with

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

. Verify that

packaging materials

(trays, bags, boxes) are available and used correctly.

Quality Control & Compliance

Inspect products at each stage to ensure proper weight, labeling, and packaging integrity before passing them along. Report any defective products or packaging issues to the Leadhand and/or Supervisor. Follow all

food safety regulations

, including

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP),

and company policies.

Equipment & Safety

Operate

packaging equipment

safely and efficiently. Ensure proper handling of materials and maintain cleanliness at workstations. Dispose of packaging scrap in designated holding bins to prevent slip hazards.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to coordinate and communicate with other team members. Ability to conduct visual inspections of cookies during packing to ensure quality. standards. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be comfortable working in a hot environment (Bakery floor). Requires standing for extended periods. Occasional lifting of gray storage bins which weighs approximately 40 lbs. when filled. Repetitive movement of hand and arms.
