Arctic Canadian Diamond Company (Arctic) is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine. The company also holds a controlling interest in the Lac de Gras Diamond Project. The Ekati Diamond Mine and the Lac de Gras Diamond Project are located in Canada’s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview Reporting to the Team Leader – Fixed Plant Maintenance and working two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati Mine site, this role will be responsible for maintaining manual and mechanical overhead, swing and passage doors, in surface and underground facilities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Participate and advocate in a zero harm safety culture and all Health, Safety, Environment and Security programs within Arctic;
• Providing general preventative work on seals, tracks and safety interlocks;
• Service and maintain commercial doors including sectional, rolling steel, high speed and specialty doors;
• Coordinate with team leader for scheduled work and obtain necessary parts;
• Inspect rails, panels and weights;
• Ensure doors meet building codes; and
• Replace worn or damaged door parts.
• Assemble, erect, install and dismantle material and personnel handling devices used for installation, maintenance and repair of overhead doors
• Preparing materials for each job, including completing work orders.
• Demonstrating teamwork to ensure installation / repair efficiencies.

Education/Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Five (5) years of maintenance experience on large overhead doors;
• Ability to work at heights;
• Experience in an industrial setting, preferably mining;
• Overhead Door Certification is a preferred asset;
• Journeyperson Certification in an industrial trade is an asset.
