  • Unloading coils; completing coil sheets; moving coils into fabrication area and labeling coils with ID stickers;
  • Operating crane to move materials in rollforming or preparation departments, or load/unload trucks
  • Cleaning forming rolls for channel/bridging;
  • Cleaning bridging paint tanks;
  • Assisting the mill changeovers for different size products;
  • Strapping loads of channel, bridging or deck;
  • Conducting general area clean up;
  • Ensuring 5S floor plan and material storage is maintained in respective departments;
  • Operating forklift to unload wood, take out strapping and remove garbage;
  • Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements, and time management in the performance of daily duties;
  • Comply with all legislated and company\' health, safety, environmental, quality and Lean policies, procedures and programs;
  • May be trained to operate the rollformer on a fill-in basis;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Position requires ability:
  • to operate an overhead crane and forklift;
  • to read a tape measure and cutting bills and work independently;
  • to read/write English to complete necessary paperwork and to interact with drivers delivering raw materials or picking up loads for shipment;
  • to continuously flip/stack materials, and rig loads for movement with crane;
  • to work day or afternoon shift, and weekday and weekend overtime as requested to meet customer needs.
Additional Information

Physical Demands: The nature of this position also requires the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities, from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50-70 lbs), to sitting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling with repetitive hand and finger movements. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work Environment: The employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to welding fumes and airborne particles. The employee may also be at risk of experiencing flash burns, skin burns, electrical shocks and high noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment must always be worn (including but not limited to: metatarsal safety boots, safety glasses, welding helmet, welding gloves/sleeves, earplugs and respiratory protection).
