A Renaissance Hotel Business Development Manager finds new and interesting business opportunities and maintains the company's existing clients to ensure strong business relationships long term. Their duties include developing business strategies, educating customers, and networking with potential clients so that they can make profitable sales in the future.
We are looking for someone with a strong competitive drive for sales. They are self-motivated while being active and an engaged member of a high-performing team. In this hybrid role, a successful candidate is confident and uses technology and data to identify opportunities and offer solutions proactively. They understand the importance of strategically bringing business to the hotel to maximize overall revenue while maintaining positive, professional relationships with customers.

WHAT YOUR DAY TO DAY LOOKS LIKE
Generate revenue and meet sales targets.
Develop & implement effective sales and marketing strategies to drive sales growth.
Compile a list of prospective customers based on market trends, industry event announcements and potential customer requirements to generate new sales leads.
Prospect for potential customers using various methods such as cold calling, face-to-face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking.
Utilize existing database of contacts to solicit and secure sales for the business.
Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with meeting planners, business travel managers and others.
Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences to build relationships and expand business opportunities.
Ability to analyze account performance, tracking key metrics, and adjusting strategies to improve selling results.
Promote customer retention through a high standard of customer service, including proper and timely communication.
Contribute to a culture of proactive selling with continuous customer outreach.
Ability to help organize, plan and participate in sales events - both on and off property.
Provide accurate information to internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products or services that exceed client expectations.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with your sales coordinator to build proposals, contracts in a timely manner.
Work with your Director to resolve client issues, address escalations and implement solutions to maintain positive relationships.
Being adept at using customer relations management software to optimize your sales potential.
Complete high level hotel tours as often as possible.
IF YOU ARE THE BEST CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE
Previous outside sales experience an asset.
Strong hunting skills with a focus on business development.
Knowledge of CRM systems is an asset.
Must have a vehicle; mileage is reimbursed.
