More Driven.About the Position:The Off-the-Road Technical Support Manager will apply technical/business skills related to off-the-road (OTR) tires to continue to improve Goodyear OTR products. This position will encourage the growth of the global Field Engineering team core service competency.Primary Responsibilities:I-JK1

  • Work with the Field Sales team to ensure the right tire is being applied to maximize product performance and minimize warranty risk (work with customers to match product features and benefits with their needs).
  • Represent the eyes and ears of the Field team as the conduit to the Development Engineers in order to quickly respond to field issues or changes for continuous improvement. Report on all priority P-number development builds delivered to customers in your region, with emphasis on large haulage tires.
  • Proficient in use of OTR field performance analytical tools (mine audits, TPMH, load analysis, Vbox/IMU). Computer skills in basic programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Aid in the performance reporting and overall continuous improvement effort of the large haulage tires program. Be prepared to travel globally to aid in the expansion/development of global Sales and Support team.
  • Proficient use and experience in using the OTR warranty database to submit claims, approve claims and track trends in the product performance.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree or in lieu of degree 10 or more years of experience in the tire industry or OTR
  • 5 or more years of experience in the tire industry or OTR (experience could be in service, production, quality and/or technical areas related to tires)
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Masters degree
  • Thorough knowledge of tire applications and proper placement
  • Successful work with dealers/end-users on a face-to-face basis, listening to, evaluating and helping to solve customer needs
  • History of working with cross-functional groups and influencing others to positive action without direct control
