Job Title: Saskatoon/Regina Organizing Representative

IUPAT District Council 17 is seeking a Full-Time Organizing Representative based in the Saskatoon or Regina region to lead unionization efforts within the construction and finishing trades. This critical role will focus on empowering non-union workers, promoting safe and fair work environments, and expanding Union representation in Saskatchewan's construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Build relationships with non-union workers and educate them on the benefits of Union membership.
Plan and execute strategic organizing campaigns focused on IUPAT trades.
Conduct research on contractors and projects to identify organizing opportunities.
Attend industry events and job sites to recruit members and increase awareness of IUPAT.
Maintain accurate and timely records of organizing efforts using tools like Google Sheets.
Travel regularly to worksites across the Saskatoon and Regina regions.
Work collaboratively with the IUPAT team to develop and adjust strategies based on industry needs.
What We're Looking For:
Construction or Union experience is considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in one-on-one and group settings.
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with Saskatchewan labour laws and the construction industry.
Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Comfortable using technology and software tools to manage outreach activities.
