Rotation/Shifts
Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 4 and 8 hour shifts (07:00-11:00, 07:00-15:00, 07:15-15:15, 11:00-19:00, 23:00-07:00, 23:15-07:15).

What you will bring
Grade 12 or equivalent;
Six (6) months recent patient care experience as an Orderly/OR attendant at TOH, former General, Riverside or Civic Hospitals;
OR successful completion of an accredited Health Care program;
OR currently enrolled in a health related course with 6 months recent patient care experience (i.e. Patient Care Assistant, Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, nursing assistant, physiotherapy/occupational therapy assistant, or Registered Practical Nurse);
Basic knowledge of established Infection Control and Occupational Health & Safety practices;
Basic knowledge of sterility and aseptic technique;
Knowledge of body mechanics, and safe lift and transfer practices;
CPR (Heartsaver or BCLS);
Good oral/written communication skills in English and listening skills are required to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, patients, and visitors;
Ability to cope with change in patient condition;
Good decision-making skills to prioritize work;
Basic math skills required for monitoring intake/output.
