Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician/ Ophthalmic assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the accurate fitting of glasses and contact lenses. The ideal candidate will possess strong optical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others achieve clear vision.

Duties

Greet and assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their needs and preferences. Conduct measurements for eyeglasses to ensure proper fit. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame styles. Maintain an organized display of optical products while ensuring inventory is stocked. Process orders and manage patient records using optical software systems such as Evisioncare. Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure timely production of eyewear. Provide support in retail management functions, including sales tracking and promotional activities. Stay updated on medical terminology related to eye care to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.

Experience

Previous experience in an optical setting or retail sales environment is preferred. Familiarity with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye care is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with Insurance Billing.
