• Work with experienced mentors in the multi-disciplinary Platform Systems Architecture team to help define and validate innovative new products and features.
• Support the architecture, hardware, software, and product verification teams on the development and testing of new products.
• Apply your problem solving and analysis skills to real-world network deployment challenges using industry-standard applications, leading edge test equipment and custom tools.
• Operate packet-optical equipment and apply your troubleshooting and communications skills to debug and validate system functionality and performance.
• Use your data analysis skills to build and test models and tools that help others with system design, network planning and testing.

The Must Haves:

• Working towards completion of a Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in level Engineering or Applied Science (Computer, Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunications).
• Excel skills and experience with a scripting language such as Python are assets.
• Interest in learning how to operate packet-optical networking and test equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and quickly respond to changing priorities.
• Key to being successful in this position is a positive self-motivated attitude with the desire to independently learn and apply new skills as well as the ability to clearly communicate ideas in presentation format.

The annual pay range for this position is $18.75-31.00Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
