. This role is central to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment while driving performance through strong process management, team leadership, and data-driven decision-making.
Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including production, inventory, staging, and shipping.
Ensure a well-organized warehouse layout that supports optimal workflow and lean manufacturing principles.
Maintain accurate inventory systems and manage raw materials and finished goods to minimize downtime and waste.
Enforce strict housekeeping standards (5S practices) to ensure a clean and clutter-free environment.
Safety & Compliance:
Champion a safety-first culture across the warehouse; lead daily safety briefings and enforce PPE and equipment usage policies.
Conduct regular safety audits and hazard assessments to ensure full OSHA compliance.
Investigate incidents or near-misses, implement corrective actions, and maintain safety documentation.
Train and certify employees on equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cutting tools.
Team Leadership & Scheduling:
Supervise production and warehouse staff, ensuring proper staffing and shift coverage to meet production goals.
Train, coach, and develop employees to uphold productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Conduct performance reviews and set clear expectations for team members.
KPI Management & Continuous Improvement:
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
On-time order fulfillment
Production efficiency
Inventory accuracy
Downtime and defect rates
Safety incidents and near-misses
Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase output and reduce costs.
Work closely with senior leadership to align operational goals with broader company objectives.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing operations management.
Proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Experience working with KPIs, inventory systems, and process improvement tools (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.).
Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Excel and warehouse/ERP software.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in operations, logistics, or related field preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in mattress or furniture manufacturing.
Familiarity with ERP or WMS platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Fishbowl, SAP).
Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
