Transdev Canada is hiring an Operations Manager for our Kamloops location.
As the Operations Manager for our Kamloops transit operation, you'll lead day-to-day service delivery; scheduling, dispatch, fleet availability, and safety; while coaching a unionized team to provide on-time, customer-focused service. You'll own KPIs, compliance, and budget performance, partnering with Maintenance and the client to drive continuous improvement.
Your role
Run daily operations:
Oversee scheduling, dispatch, road supervision, fleet availability, facility activity, and the site safety program to deliver service to standard and on time.
Lead a unionized team:
Coach and develop drivers, dispatchers, road supervisors, wash bay, and maintenance support; set clear goals, hold regular huddles, and recognize great work.
Champion safety:
Model a safety-first culture; manage training, toolbox talks, audits/inspections, and incident investigations; ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Deliver service excellence:
Monitor on-time performance and service quality; resolve passenger concerns professionally and put effective service-recovery plans in place.
Partner with Maintenance:
Coordinate fleet availability, PM schedules, and road-call response to minimize downtime; plan for weather events and operational contingencies.
Own performance metrics:
Track and act on KPIs (OTP, road calls, preventable incidents, complaints, PM compliance, overtime, cost/vehicle-hour) and use data to drive improvements.
Steward the budget:
Support budgeting and forecasting; optimize resources, manage overtime, and implement cost-effective scheduling and vendor use.
Foster positive labour relations:
Apply the collective agreement fairly; adjudicate Step-2 grievances; maintain constructive relationships with union representatives.
Ensure compliance & reporting:
Meet contractual obligations; prepare client and internal reports; collaborate with partners, suppliers, and agencies to keep operations smooth.
Drive continuous improvement:
Lead root-cause reviews, implement action plans, pilot new ideas, and standardize successful practices across the operation.
Be ready when it counts:
Participate in the on-call/after-hours rotation and lead incident response when needed.
Other Responsibilities:
Follow all of Transdev's standards, policies, and procedures. Perform other responsibilities or tasks as requested or required.

Your profile
You're driven by customer experience and hold your team to a high service standard.
You have a background in transit or a closely related field.
You have Hands-on experience with safety programs and claims management.
You must be comfortable leading a unionized workforce and administering a collective agreement.
You possess strong verbal and written skills; able to produce concise, detailed reports.
You make sound decisions using risk-based judgment and data.
You are proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn Perspective, Traffic Studio, and Oracle.
Your location :
This is a non-union position, On-site in Kamloops.
Full-time (40 hrs/week) with a variable roster that includes some evenings and weekends.
Flexibility is essential; you may be scheduled on statutory holidays as operational needs require.
