Located at the gateway to Quebec City, near major bridges and highways, Travelodge Quebec is a unionized property featuring 230 rooms and suites, an on-site restaurant, and over 12,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. Approximately 90 employees work here in a professional and dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Interim General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the hotel's operational activities to ensure an optimal guest experience and operational profitability. They manage operational teams (accommodation, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance) and ensure compliance with quality standards as well as health and safety regulation
Responsibilities:
Coordinate accommodation, front desk, food and beverage, and maintenance services.
Ensure smooth operational flow and adherence to quality standards.
Supervise and support department managers in achieving performance goals.
Maintain consistent quality of services provided to guests.
Effectively manage human, material, and financial resources under their responsibility.
Implement and monitor operational performance indicators.
Participate in the development and enforcement of hotel policies and procedures.
Collaborate on budget management and cost control.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and occupational health and safety standards.
Actively contribute to fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
University or college degree in hotel management, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the hotel or hospitality sector.
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team motivation skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of hotel management software (e.g., PMS, POS) and proficiency in MS Office suite.
Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.
Flexibility to work variable hours based on operational needs.
Assets
Experience managing unionized teams.
Familiarity with CITQ standards and certifications.
Training in occupational health and safety.
Languages
: Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required for this position as we serve an international client.
