Position Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee child, youth, and family programming (primarily ages 0-13) and play a key role in ensuring the success of The Strong Roots Centre's initiatives. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position combines leadership, program development, staff support, and operational oversight.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, is community-focused, and has a proven track record in program development and delivery within the social services sector.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Delivery
Lead the creation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of child, youth, and family programs.
Collaborate with staff and community partners to identify needs and create responsive, innovative programming.
Ensure programming aligns with organizational mission, values, and best practices.
Staff Leadership & Training
Hire, supervise, support, and mentor program staff.
Champion a positive team culture and model effective leadership practices.
Oversee staff training and professional development opportunities.
Operations & Administration
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Centre in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Provide on-call support and supervision for new programming, including evenings and weekends as required.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Ability to work within a well-defined budget
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Build and sustain strong relationships with community partners, families, and stakeholders.
Represent The Strong Roots Centre in community initiatives and collaborative efforts.
Promote the Centre's services and advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families.
Qualifications & Attributes
Minimum 2 years of management or leadership experience, preferably in the social service sector.
Education or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in child, youth, and family programming.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Community-focused with a collaborative and strengths-based approach.
Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and positive workplace culture.
Experience developing program budgets and working within a well-defined organization budget
Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
What We Offer
Competitive salary of $65,000-$70,000 annually.
3 weeks vacation
Cost-shared benefits plan (75% employer / 25% employee).
Flexible work schedule, primarily Monday to Friday.
