THE OPPORTUNITYWestern Forest Products has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Administrator to join our team at our Ladysmith Sawmill Operation.What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do: The Operations Administrator is responsible for a variety of administrative functions that help keep the mill running smoothly. You\xe2\x80\x99ll support different areas of the operation including payroll, human resources, health and safety, environmental compliance, and accounting.Who You Are: You have at least 2-3 years of experience in administrative roles and are looking to continue developing your skills. If you have previous experience in HR-related tasks such as coordinating recruitment and onboarding or health and safety administration, that\xe2\x80\x99s a definite bonus! You have a can-do attitude, and a customer service mindset, are a self-starter, have strong attention to detail, and can keep yourself organized in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.What We Offer:

  • Salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 based on skill level, qualifications, and experience

Work Environment: Due to the nature of this role needing to work collaboratively with others at the operations, it is to be performed in person at our Ladysmith Sawmill.RESPONSIBILITIESPayroll, HR & General Administration
  • Payroll administration including daily entry into ADP/adding schedules;
  • Update rates/job positions on timesheets as required;
  • Assist hourly employees with benefits and payroll queries;
  • Maintain vacation tracking for hourly employees;
  • Crew scheduling, call-ins and report absenteeism to Management weekly;
  • Maintain all personnel files;
  • Support with Western Learning Courses;
  • Maintain job posting system;
  • Provide administration assistance to Manager, Superintendents, Supervisors and Planning Department as required;
  • Arrange hourly candidate interviews and assist new hires with orientation paperwork;
  • Timekeeping and benefits administration;
  • Provide administrative support to month-end reporting; and,
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
Accounts Payable & Purchasing Support
  • Daily matching of PO\xe2\x80\x99s, invoices and receiving documents;
  • Process and code matched vouchers in A/P and CMMS system;
  • Maintain all accounts payable files;
  • Vendor account reconciliations and follow up communication; and,
  • Assist Purchasing/Stores/Maintenance personnel with tracking contract maintenance time, safety supplies, and office supplies.
Health and Safety Administration
  • Provide administrative support to incident investigations, including reporting injuries to WorkSafeBC, submitting investigations and SITRUS reporting;
  • Provide administrative support to promote Ability Management, including submitting forms, coordinating therapists, return to work plans and reporting, and accommodation coordination;
  • Provide administrative support to the Alcohol and Drug program, including scheduling pre-employment, for cause and post-incident testing, managing accurate records and ensuring contractor compliance with Western\xe2\x80\x99s Alcohol and Drug Policy;
  • Provide administrative support to implement Western\xe2\x80\x99s Safety program, including maintaining accurate and compliant records, developing weekly crew meeting information, preparing and tracking the Annual Safety Improvement Plan and safety reporting; and,
  • Training manager database administration.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in an administrative capacity;
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Business or Administration is a definite asset, or a combination of education and experience;
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment an asset.
Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products;
  • Works well in a team environment;
  • Willing to take on projects and complete in a timely manner;
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask; and,
  • Strong communication skills.
