The OT Technician will leverage learnings from across global OT teams, to create and share repeatable concepts and efficient ways of working. The incumbent will be positioned to work proactively with OEMs, mining and technical departments to ensure support is readily available and to ensure maximum equipment utilization. The role is well suited to someone who is forward thinking, has a keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities, is willing to contribute to the development of Digital Transformation Best Practices, can quickly build relationships with key stakeholders, is comfortable with ambiguity and who is committed to safe work practices while striving for zero harm.Key responsibilities:

  • Installing, managing and maintaining the various Mining systems such as pit monitoring, fleet management, collision avoidance and other data acquisition systems;
  • Managing and maintaining radio and paging communications systems, as well as licensing requirements;
  • Managing and maintaining other systems such as Automated Weather Observation System, Mesh Radio System, TVRO system and transmission cabling across site;
  • Testing, repairing and managing as-built documentation for Fiber optic and CAT terminations;
  • Performing high precision soldering and electronic repairs, as needed;
  • Working closely with Offsite Delivery teams to rack, stack and wire server room equipment into go live state;
  • Maintaining and managing solar trailers and Fuel cell power systems;
  • Updating and maintaining SAP equipment lists and BoM\'s;
  • Assisting with lifecycle planning for upkeep of spares inventory in warehouse systems;
  • Assisting with the maintenance and administration of Security Access and video Management Systems;
  • Developing project installation and scoping documents with OEMs;
  • Deploying Condition Monitoring infrastructure for Reliability Management Systems; and
  • Deploying WIFI infra-structures to support both commercial and Operations Technology systems.
Reporting to the Digital Transformation Superintendent, the role is site based, working a two (2) week in / two (2) week out rotation.Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in the field of web and digital technology, Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering and/or possession of a valid interprovincial trade certificate;
  • Certification in mesh network systems;
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in the following:
  • Deploying radio and communication systems
  • Construction management
  • Leading the definition, analysis, design and delivery of technology and data-oriented architecture
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following will be advantageous;
  • Rajant BC Commander and Enterprise
  • SM Tools (Hexagon CAS)
  • End terminations of CAT 5/6, Coax, Fiber and RF
  • Networking protocols and deployment (modbus, profibus, ethernet, wireless, etc.)
  • Project management, across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient understanding of IT principles, including lifecycle planning and budget estimation
  • Previous experience working in Arctic conditions
Desirable Assets:
  • CFOT (Certified in Fiber Optics)
  • Knowledgeable on Edge Computing and Industry 4.0
  • CAS TL2 Certification
