Job Description

SUMMARY



The Operations & Logistics Manager is the Branch Manager's right-hand and plays a critical leadership role in ensuring daily operational efficiency across inventory, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and customer service support. This individual ensures smooth internal coordination, optimal inventory levels, and tight logistical execution--all with a focus on providing excellent service and maintaining a safe, productive workplace.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES



Operations & Inventory Management



Oversee inventory control and purchasing functions to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize stock-outs. Ensure pricing accuracy, margin targets, and reliable product costing (including freight, duty, and exchange). Monitor and analyze product movement to flag slow-moving, surplus, and obsolete inventory. Conduct regular cycle counts and support annual inventory counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Coordinate all product receiving (including PO accuracy, shipping errors, and vendor communication). Maintain strong communication with the warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to ensure alignment and rapid decision-making.

Logistics & Warehouse Oversight



Supervise all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure timely, damage-free product flow. Coordinate deliveries and in-bound shipments, including container scheduling and customs brokerage Work with freight providers to ensure competitive rates, accurate quotes for CS, and proactive communication on delays. Conduct daily walk-throughs to assess safety, cleanliness, and workflow efficiency. Monitor and schedule equipment maintenance; oversee propane, forklift, and other essential operations. Ensure all outgoing product is correctly packaged, labeled, and free from damage or quality issues.

Procurement & Vendor Relations



Manage procurement responsibilities, including sourcing through our vendor partners for TREECO products. Build strong working relationships with key vendors, order desks, shipping departments, and freight carriers. Monitor vendor performance and address issues relating to defects, damages, or delayed shipments.

Team Leadership & Communication



Be a bridge between management, warehouse, and front-of-house teams to ensure cohesive operations. Train, mentor, and support warehouse staff on proper procedures and product handling. Conduct regular check-ins with the warehouse and sales teams to review challenges and create proactive solutions. Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and safety.

Safety compliance & responsibilities



Enforce and model compliance with OH&S legislation and company safety protocols. Provide PPE and ensure its use; perform daily equipment safety checks. Immediately report safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or workplace hazards to management. Actively participate in creating a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
