As we rapidly grow our team and locations, GraceMed is looking for experienced an Operating Room Manager to join our Clinic in Kitchener in a part-time role. An OR Manager\xe2\x80\x99s focus is to ensure that ensure safe and efficient operation of our surgical units.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all functions within the surgical unit:
    • Operating Room, Recovery Room, Patient preparedness, Anesthesia, Nursing Team, Inventory Management
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of surgical operations to ensure smooth OR days
  • Manage the Nursing Team: hire, train, scheduling, payroll approval and support
  • Assign team members duties and responsibilities and oversee accuracy and completion
  • Oversee Physician OR schedules and patient bookings
  • Under direction from the Medical Director, ensure compliance regarding current healthcare regulations, medical laws and governing body standards
  • Ensure high ethical standards
  • Serve as a role model for employees in terms of professionalism and work ethic

Qualifications:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse, in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Completion of an accredited peri-operative nursing program
  • CPN-C preferred
  • Current membership with ORNAC preferred
  • At least 5 years in a people leader role
  • Minimum 10 years current peri-operative nursing experience preferred
  • BCLS/ACLS Certified
  • General computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office and EMR (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to deal with conflict and crisis in a professional manner
  • Strong leadership, teaching, and mentorship skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and delegate tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly professional when engaging with healthcare providers, patients, and their families
  • Ability to advocate for their nursing staff to ensure a safe work environment
  • Excellent time and project management skills
