Alberta Health Services (AHS) needs someone like you for the role of Acute Care Manager in the northern Alberta community of St. Paul. The St. Paul Healthcare Centre, also known as St. Therese, is located in the growing, multicultural community of St. Paul, Alberta. This facility offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services from initial diagnostic work through active treatment and rehabilitation. Description:

As the Acute Care Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the ER/OR and MDR Departments, as well as supporting the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will make unit-level decisions and have direct leadership responsibility for the effective deployment of resources contributing to the achievement of patient- and family-centred care. As the Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork, and coordinating staffing and clinical work. You will maintain an effective framework for the patient care operations to effectively utilize information and facilitate the delivery of quality assurance. Leveraging creative approaches to patient care, you will foster a culture of high-quality, collaborative care within the community.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program with a current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). 5 years' experience in a nursing role in Acute Care, ER and OR. Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:

Leadership skills, comfort with the decision-making process. Organization, prioritization, and time management skills required. Proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and inspire others. People management skills and the ability to develop cohesive, high-functioning teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of Sterile Supply Technician Theory Program. Conflict resolution and mediation skills are a definite asset.
