Under the general direction of the Co-Director of the Opera Program, you will coordinate the daily operational needs for the Opera department. You will strive to maintain the artistic intent of all productions staged at our theatres and assist with the operational needs of performances throughout the season.

Required to work hours that may consist of some evening and weekends as appropriate to the staffing needs of the department.

During slower periods, the incumbent may be asked to perform tasks within their job description in other parts of the Faculty outside of the Opera department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Coordinating the preparation of space, materials and equipment required for production activities
  • Creating and editing web pages with interactive media
  • Creating and maintaining presence on social media platforms
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Tracking and monitoring service contracts for payment and renewal
Essential Qualifications:
  • College Diploma (2 years), preferably Opera or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years stage coordination experience within musical theatre, preferably Opera.
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders including stage managers, set and costume designers, lighting designers, hair/makeup personnel etc.
  • Demonstrated experience building positive relationships with performers, production and music staff.
  • Experience coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items.
  • Experience determining logistical details and activities for performances.
  • Experience editing promotional and/or outreach materials.
  • Experience creating and maintaining presence on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter).
  • Experience tracking andmonitoring service contracts for payment and renewal.
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, adaptable, solutions-oriented problem solver.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with proven ability to effectively prioritize workload.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
