We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director class 1 to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to families during their time of need, guiding them through the funeral planning process, and ensuring that all details are handled with care and professionalism. This role requires a strong commitment to supporting grieving families while managing the operational aspects of the funeral home.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including transportation, preparation, and presentation of the deceased.
Meet with families to discuss their wishes and preferences for services, providing guidance on options available.
Prepare necessary legal documents and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage the logistics of funeral services, including scheduling, staffing, and equipment needs.
Provide support to families before, during, and after services, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Conduct sales of funeral merchandise such as caskets, urns, and memorial products.
Perform heavy lifting as required for the handling of remains and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the funeral home.
Performing embalmings and preparations.
Experience
Previous experience in a funeral service role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to empathize with grieving families.
Bi-lingual French and English.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands associated with the role.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively.
