Maybe you're on the waiting list to be an Occasional Teacher and looking to keep your teaching ability current in the meantime? This job is located in Ajax, ON.This teaching position involves teaching English, Math & Science at an Elementary/Intermediate level part-time, with the opportunity to work full-time if your schedule allows for it.Responsibilities:

• Conduct each class in a detailed and structured manner, with student growth and understanding as to the main goal
• Strong classroom management and teaching techniques specific to English, Math & Science a the Elementary/Intermediate level
• Understanding of the education industry as a whole, with a passion for innovation and creativity
• Approach each day and class with a student growth mindset
• Collaborate and interact with the rest of the Step Up Academy team in a professional and academically stimulating manner
• Differentiate instruction and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Successful applicants will be teaching in an environment with a 1:6 teacher to student ratio.

Required Job Skills:

• A Bachelor's degree from a Canadian University
• OCT Certified OR Currently in a Teacher Ed Program
• Primary, Junior, or Intermediate Certified
• The ability to teach Grades 1 to 8 Science, Maths and English is an asset
• Experience teaching English courses based on the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum
• Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience (2+ years is preferred)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Demonstrated passion for the growth, development and overall learning of all students.
