AECOM GTA is currently seeking an on-call Operation & Maintenance and Service Readiness Manager with extensive specialized skills in passenger and freight rail, to join our Transit & Rail Systems Team and work with a multidisciplinary team delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects.

Job Summary:

  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact.
  • Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools.
  • May include management of small teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors.
  • Manages projects on a local to regional basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction.
  • Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes project.
  • Acts as primary point of contact with client.
  • Inspection activities including:
  • Quality Assurance, complete progress and condition reports, inspection and diagnosis of track, signals and right-of-way infrastructure for both light and heavy rail.
  • Review and develop maintenance programs and schedules including:
  • Using deep industry experience provide reliability centered maintenance and assurance for both light and heavy rail.
  • Rail systems maintenance procedures
  • Asset management and maintenance strategies of rail systems, including overhead catenary and track maintenance vehicles.
  • Review geometry and rail flaw testing results and identify corrective actions.
  • Review and optimize warranty management processes.
  • Business growth and client relations including:
  • Working with clients to identify opportunities for improvement in areas of operations and maintenance and revenue service readiness.
  • Participate in review of project and business opportunities and provide advice to Transit and Rail Systems team on technical concepts and approaches for operational readiness.
  • Build professional relationships with clients, contractors and industry leaders.
  • Working with Transit and Rail Systems team and/or project teams including:
  • Provide advice on technical governance in projects.
  • Contribute to development of strategy to manage fit-for-purpose engineering design.
  • Provide technical expertise in development of technical specifications, design review and work methods.
  • Provide advice on safety and project delivery in line with AECOM safety processes and protocols.
  • Provide technical oversight during project delivery.
  • Develop operations and maintenance readiness and transition planning from project to operations.
  • Provide advice and develop commissioning and handover planning.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree + 10+ years of relevant experience in Rail Systems, operations and maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance OR Diploma + 12 years of relevant experience OR Highschool + 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Driving License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ideally 25+ years of experience in Rail Systems, operations and maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance
  • P Eng
  • Masters Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideally 30+ years of experience working on passenger and freight rail .
  • Experience in system assurance
  • Design experience and inner knowledge of transit/rail projects will be preferred
