The Customer/Sales Support Clerk provides essential support to the customer service and sales functions at a landscape and masonry supply store. This behind-the-scenes role is responsible for processing invoices and payments, assisting with inventory management, and supporting administrative and operational needs of the sales team. The position works closely with the General Manager and front counter staff to ensure the smooth operation of daily business activities and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Customer Support
Prepare and issue customer invoices, statements, and respond to billing inquiries.
Post payments using the Spire accounting system.
Track and follow up on outstanding payments; assist in collections efforts.
Collaborate with the General Manager in establishing and monitoring customer credit limits.
Send invoices and account statements as requested by customers.
Escalate customer complaints to the General Manager.
Assist customers with product sales when needed.
Work closely with and assist front counter staff to help maintain a high level of customer service.
Inventory & Procurement
Enter inventory into ERP system and process purchase orders for store supplies.
Monitor stock levels and support restocking procedures for Dartmouth.
Assisting in periodical inventory counts.
Sales Team Support
Answer and direct incoming calls to appropriate personnel.
Respond to emails and handle general inquiries.
Maintain accurate filing systems (electronic and paper-based) for finance, customer, and inventory documentation.
Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure the location runs smoothly.
Maintain and update customer contact records in the system.
Enter yearly pricing adjustments for products.
Assist in training new counter sales associates in the store.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma required.
Post-secondary training in business administration, accounting, or a related field is an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1-2 years in an administrative, sales support, or accounting-related role.
Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
Customer service.
Above average organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Spire Accounting System.
Sales experience.
Landscape and Masonry experience and knowledge.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
