Part-Time Temporary (0.5-0.6 FTE). Core hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays (7.5 hours in clinic), with flexibility for remaining hours and location. Opportunities for full-time and permanent positions may be available if open to working in additional programs/services.

$43-$53/hour; Contractors (Fee Split Structure)

Occupational Therapists in this program work closely with psychologists and registered clinical counsellors to facilitate recovery and return to work for clients diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. These clients include first responders, corrections officers, health care workers, and other individuals exposed to traumatic events through work.
This role is ideal for OTs passionate about mental health, teamwork, vocational rehabilitation, and achieving meaningful outcomes. If you enjoy higher session frequency, lower caseloads, a close-knit team environment, and a mix of clinic-based and community work, this position offers both challenge and reward as you help clients return to work, life, and meaningful occupations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide OT interventions in clinic and community/workplace settings, including: Emotional regulation skill training Activity planning and graded routine building Goal setting Sleep hygiene strategies Problem-solving and communication skill training Developing exposure hierarchies in collaboration with psychologists Supporting and coaching clients through exposure tasks Act as team coordinator, liaising with referral sources, employers, and community health care providers Organize workplace exposure opportunities, complete job site visits, and develop/monitor structured GRTW plans Complete charting and formal report writing

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum one year of clinical experience providing occupational therapy in a RTW-focused setting, working with individuals diagnosed with a mental health condition Training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy Current registration and good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for stakeholder liaison, complex case management, and report writing
Availability to work a minimum of two days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) in the Surrey Newton clinic
