We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist with experience in Pediatrics to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
Work with clients and their families to set OT goals that are occupation focused and are targeted, measurable outcomes
Provide direct service, consultation, and education to client, family, and community providers with a focus on maximizing a child's function in the areas of self-care; productivity (school and play skills), and leisure (community participation)
OT services to be provided in clinic or client's home
Utilize research to establish and support evidence-based practice
Advising on adaptive equipment to assist clients with daily activities.
Help clients develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities.
Providing ongoing support and education to parents/guardians of clients.
Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating clients' progress and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (in good standing)
- Membership in applicable professional associations (OSOT or CAOT)
- 2 years related work experience within a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Ontario driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
