The Alberta Children\'s Hospital (ACH) is a warm & vibrant workplace, with children, youth & their families supported on inpatient units & within ambulatory clinics. The Occupational Therapist III - Research Clinician will support both clinical and research initiatives within the Allied Health and Rehabilitation team. This position will lead and support clinician and practice driven areas of research within pediatric rehabilitation. This includes but is not limited to treatment interventions for children/youth with neurological conditions and motor/movement disorders. Working together with Rehabilitation clinicians and physicians from Physiatry and Neurology, the research clinician will be responsible for contributing to research programs including initiatives such as the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) program. The research clinician will work towards publication and lead research implementation and knowledge mobilization on local clinical care. The research clinician will be responsible for the implementation of functional outcome measures that can be tracked over time as part of existing and developing research protocols for the population(s). The research clinician will support the implementation of evidence informed clinical practice across OT, providing mentorship and support in the area of clinical research. This position supports research development across the site in our Allied Health areas of practice. The OT research clinician will provide clinical support, including assessment, consultation and treatment for an assigned population. This position requires advanced professional pediatric knowledge and research expertise. This position will work in collaboration with and be part of the interdisciplinary Allied Health Research Clinician team within Rehabilitation.

Description:

As an Occupational Therapist III, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (OT Is, OT IIs, Assistants). You will facilitate the development and on-going monitoring of clinical standards of practice for occupational therapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area, collaborating with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department\'s operational plan strategies.

Required Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-graduate Masters level research or PhD required or completion of post graduate research training certificate programs. Minimum of 5 years previous work experience in a health care or rehabilitation setting required. Minimum 3 years of pediatric experience. Minimum of 2 years experience working in clinically-driven research program. Preferred Qualifications:
