Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Professional Practise Lead (OT III), who will support front-line staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre as well as lead other professional practice initiatives for the entire Central Zone. Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, you will play a key leadership role, responsible and accountable for providing support, leadership and organization of professional practise activities. Your work will focus on best practises in the delivery of allied health services and evidenced based care to patients. You will help to ensure services are provided in a culturally safe environment and that all who are involved are treated with dignity and respect while fostering networks and partnerships in order to establish standards of practice and achieve goals and priorities within the Allied Health portfolio. This position is responsible and accountable in providing input to the direction, leadership and organization of the activities of Allied Health in support of the vision, mission and strategic direction of AHS within Central Zone.Description:As an Occupational Therapist III, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (OT Is, OT IIs, Assistants). You will facilitate the development and on-going monitoring of clinical standards of practice for occupational therapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area, collaborating with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies.

Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years clinical experience in related area. Evidence of demonstrated leadership experience in strategic planning, leading change and evaluation. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Preferred Qualifications:In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Demonstrated ability to guide and lead teams, build partnerships and foster effective relationships. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and address or resolve complex issues and practice concerns.
