Antigonish and surrounding areas. In-person community-based therapy.

Position Overview:

Kind Minds Occupational Therapy is hiring an experienced, self-directed Occupational Therapist to join our paediatric community-based practice. This independent contractor position offers flexible hours and autonomy, with services provided in-home, in schools, and in community settings around Truro. Virtual sessions may be offered when appropriate.

You'll manage your own caseload, plan your schedule, and collaborate closely with families and professionals to support children and youth with diverse needs.

What We're Looking For

Registered OT with experience supporting children and teens with:

Autism, developmental delays, trauma, and learning differences Sensory processing challenges and behavioural needs Physical or motor coordination difficulties

Key Skills & Experience

Conducting assessments (standardized and informal) to guide treatment Developing individualized, goal-oriented intervention plans Using evidence-informed strategies to support motor, sensory, and daily living skills Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. SLPs, teachers, psychologists) Educating and coaching caregivers to extend therapy beyond sessions Adapting interventions for diverse environments, including rural and underserved settings Understanding and applying sensory-based and behavioural strategies

Requirements

Registration with NSOTR (in good standing) Experience working independently in varied environments (home, school, community) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Clear Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Record Check
