Job Summary
Aspire Speech is an interdisciplinary private practice dedicated to helping children and families thrive through collaborative, evidence-based care. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupation Therapist with a passion for pediatric practice. A successful candidate will assess and treat children and adolescents with a range of developmental, neurological, and sensory needs - including autism, ADHD, developmental delays and genetic disorders. You will collaborate closely with Speech Language Pathologists and other professionals to support children's participation in everyday activities at home, school and in the community. You will work at our clinic located in Bracebridge, which has a fully equipped OT therapy room, as well as in schools and other community settings to provide therapy that is functional, engaging and family focused.
Responsibilities
Conduct standardized and informal assessments in sensory processing, fine and gross motor development, visual-motor integration, self-regulation and daily living skills
Develop and implement individualized, goal-based and evidence-based treatment plans
Support children and adolescents with autism, ADHD and sensory processing difficulties
Provide direct one to one intervention in a variety of settings
Collaborate with other disciplinaries within the clinic, educators, physicians, and families to create coordinated care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessment reports, progress notes, sensory diets, therapy notes and recommendation letters in compliance with professional standards and college.
Provide parent education and coaching to support carryover of strategies in daily routines
Deliver services with sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural background including working with the indigenous communities across Muskoka-Parry Sound
Qualifications
Degree in Occupation Therapy (or equivalent)
Registration with good standing with the College of Occupation Therapist of Ontario
Valid Drivers license and reliable vehicle
Minimum 2 years experience working with children and adolescents with autism, ADHD and sensory processing challenges is an asset
Excellent communication, documentation and time management skills
Comfortable working independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team
Willingness to travel within the Muskoka-Parry Sound region
Experience in overview areas

Pay: $70.00-$95.00 per hour
