Job Description

Positive Living North is an Indigenous, community-based organization providing care and support for people living with, vulnerable to, and affected by HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C (HCV). PLN is seeking a collaborative and compassionate team player who is passionate about advancing our mandate to support full access to the Determinants of Health for all people. The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, and will be comfortable working in an inclusive environment that respects diversity. They must be able to engage non-judgmentally with individuals experiencing challenges such as addiction, poverty, and the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma.

This position requires someone who can provide respectful and supportive care by preparing nutritious meals for individuals with complex health needs, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the environment.

Qualifications



Understanding and/or willing to learn of the issues which impact homelessness and risk for HIV/AIDS. Excellent interpersonal skills: The ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently Personal characteristics that enable you to work in a dynamic, challenging and rewarding environment. Valid Food Safe or willingness to obtain the certification Experience adhering t a budget for weekly meals provided to our clients. Experience meal planning for group meals Experience providing janitorial duties to ensure a clean, safe area for people with compromised immune systems. Class 5 drivers' license and access to reliable vehicle (PLN covers the cost of business insurance for job related duties pertaining to this position.

Responsibilities



Daily Meal Preparation and Food Distribution for lunches that are served on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Maintaining an organized kitchen area Meal planning and shopping weekly for meals provided to our clients Support and connection to our clients who access our services Maintaining statistical data as it pertains to funding Engaging in activities that PLN takes part in Harm reduction supply distribution and tracking Any other duties identified by the on-site manager Additional duties as required
