Location: Kitchener Work Type: Full Time Shift: 7.5 Hour Shifts; Monday to Friday, Days Summary: This position manages the pipeline of external nursing candidates to improve sourcing, screening, position matching, and ultimately hiring. Our goals are to reduce the turnaround time for filling nursing vacancies, increase first year retention, and improve the recruitment and onboarding experience for both external candidates and hiring leaders. Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning, the Nurse Recruitment Specialist works on a team to coordinate, manage and facilitate the nurse recruitment process. Demonstrating excellent customer service, the Nurse Recruitment Specialist develops and maintains effective relationships by working collaboratively with hiring leaders and other key stakeholders to create a caring and welcoming experience for external candidates and new hires. The Nurse Recruitment Specialist will also ensure that all recruitment practices comply with applicable legislation, collective agreements, and human resources policies. Qualifications:

  • Formal nursing training and well-rounded nursing experience
  • Current Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) preferred
  • 1-2 years recruitment experience is preferred but not required \xe2\x80\x93 as long as you are eager to learn
  • Strong learning orientation, openness to change, and an innovation/improvement mindset
  • Ability to understand and apply the relevant provisions of a collective agreement, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and other applicable legislation.
  • Familiarity with nursing practice and ability to assess basic nursing skills and competencies
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal communications, interpersonal and presentation/training skills in order to collaboratively interact with external applicants, hiring managers and HR colleagues.
  • Solid written communication skills to develop job posting materials, advertisements, email communications, presentations, standard operating procedures, documentation in support of hiring decisions, interview guides and job descriptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively, manage a full work load and meet deadlines in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Embraces a philosophy of patient and family centered care
  • Exceptional customer service skills to support external candidates and hiring leaders
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, decision-making and negotiation skills and ability to problem solve issues that may arise in the recruitment process.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency working with computerized information systems and willingness to learn to work with an HRIS and Applicant Tracking System
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and effective communication.
