Position Summary



North Walkerville Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support orthopaedic surgeons in the assessment, coordination, and management of patient care across clinic locations. This role requires strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and experience working within a surgical specialty practice.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records, including histories, medications, allergies, diagnostic results, and treatment plans. Review and manage diagnostic imaging and clinical documentation, including x-rays, physiotherapy reports, and laboratory results. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans; respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care in collaboration with physicians and external medical facilities. Prepare surgical consents, organize diagnostic materials, and issue prescriptions for physiotherapy and orthopaedic bracing. Perform Nurse Practitioner duties within the full scope of practice in accordance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols. Ensure compliance with privacy legislation and safeguard patient health information. Perform additional duties as required to support clinical operations.

Qualifications and Experience



Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Extended Class - Nurse Practitioner) in good standing. Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or specialty medical practice preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of orthopaedic conditions, surgical procedures, and non-operative management strategies preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical records and imaging systems; experience with Accuro, Medeo, PACS, or Velox Imaging considered an asset. Experience performing injections (e.g., cortisone, viscosupplementation, PRP) is an asset. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain. Reliable access to a vehicle for travel between clinic locations in Windsor and Tecumseh.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $58.00-$63.00 per hour
