Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for:
Coordination of care related to specialized breastfeeding support for the Women\'s Health, NICU and Child Health Programs to include: providing quality care; acting as a resource to other health care professionals; participating in the discharge process; educating patients, family, staff and students with respect to breastfeeding; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years recent clinical experience in maternal or newborn nursing.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing required.BN preferred.
SPECIAL TRAINING:
  • Successful completion of certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid Manitoba Driver\'s License and access to a vehicle required.
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Shared Health policy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
Physical Requirements
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Moderate physical effort required.
