Conditions of Employment:


Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Valid Class 5 driver's licence with no restrictions and willingness to upgrade to class 3 licence. Ability to travel within northern Manitoba as required by land, air and water.

Qualifications:


Essential:


High School Diploma and experience in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, or fleet management. Experience assessing repair needs, authorizing work, and managing vendor relationships. Experience with understanding of heavy equipment systems, including hydraulics, engines, and electrical components. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with vendors, repair facilities, and internal teams. Strong attention to detail in documentation and data management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired:
Experience with fleet management software is an asset. Experience working with telematics/AVL systems is an asset. Proficiency in interpreting equipment diagnostics and repair data is an asset.

Duties:


Reporting to the Heavy-Duty Fleet Manager, the Northern Heavy Equipment Service Coordinator is responsible for assessing and auditing repair costs throughout the life cycle of heavy equipment, ensuring effective decision-making to optimize equipment performance and value.

The position is responsible for the planning, coordination and authorization of maintenance and repairs for heavy equipment located within Northern Manitoba, inclusive of Northern Airports.

Using their mechanical expertise, the Northern Heavy Equipment Service Coordinator will assist external vendors in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, ensuring timely and accurate repairs. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the fleet.
