Job Summary Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Technology Infrastructure, Windsor Casino Limited, the Telecommunications Administrator uses hardware and software infrastructure to provide secure and reliable communication networks for both data and voice. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures and maintains network bridges, switches and routers.
  • Implements and monitors telecommunication network security, including security for incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of remote access privileges to all systems.
  • Monitors Local Area Network, Wide Area Network and Internet traffic to prevent bottlenecks by capacity planning and network provisioning.
  • Maintains all call accounting hardware/software. Provides backups for telecommunication systems.
  • Installs, configures and maintains switches for telephones and wireless units. Upgrades Audix Voicemail software.
  • Maintains long distance access codes.
  • Adds, moves, changes and repairs all telecommunications network components.
  • Maintains off hours P.B.X. Alarm Monitoring.
  • Plans and installs cabling requirements for voice and data communications.
  • Maintains inventory of all network hardware and software.
  • Maintains up-to-date network diagram in conjunction with Systems Administrator.
  • Assist Manager in the budget preparation process for the department.
  • Troubleshoots the KRONOS clock system.
  • Complies with Windsor Casino Limited policies and procedures.
  • Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by management.
  • Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.
Qualifications
  • Equivalent to a University Degree in Telecommunications or a related field. Equivalent to certificates in ND&I Certified Network Distribution & Interface, Lucent PBX Certification G3R, ICND-Cisco Network Administration, TCPIP Routing and splicing fiber optics or related fields of study.
  • Minimum five years experience in a casino/hospitality environment related to telecommunications or experience deemed acceptable by Windsor Casino Limited. Experience with word processing applications, spread-sheeting applications, industry related software applications and e-mail applications.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming Employee License.
  • Physical Demands: Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is constantly required. (i.e. more than 75% of time on the job)
  • Physical effort requiring medium lifting is occasionally required.
  • Must possess a good attendance record as stipulated in the Casino Windsor Non-Union Attendance Management policy. Anyone with over 5 occurrences will not be considered.
  • Customer service skills
